Fishing for dorado is best in the warmer temperatures. There is no set fishing season, however, the golden dorado prefer the wamer temperatures of the rivers and you will see them actively going after your lure or fly.

December to March are great months and can almost be considered HOT! However, while this time of year most of North America, Canada, and Europe suffer from biting cold weather, it is nice to head down south to Uruguay for some great fishing in the sunshine filled days.

The accommodations for the Uruguay fishing trips is out of 2 resort like areas. Both have the access to the hot thermal springs that Salto is famous for. These are hotels with other guests and families so we are happy to book last minute do realize that weekends and the months of January and February can be a difficult time to reserve several rooms.

Los Gauchos has pictures and information regarding the resorts and the food is outstanding with breaskfast buffets and made to order dinners. Typically lunch is served on the banks of the river and includes the famous premium beef, fresh vegetables, bread, and the ultimate desserts that South America is known for.

The fishing trips in Uruguay can be booked as a stand alone dorado fishing trek OR combined with the Uruguay dove hunting. Dove hunting is available year round and a nice way to to see Uruguay and experience the best of the fishing and shooting.
